Bego Valée des Merveilles Print E-mail

The Mount Bego is a sacred mountain, close to Nice, on the Alpes Maritimes, in the Mercantour Parc, currently being included in the UNESCO world heritage list.

For thousands of years, from the Stone Age all the way to the Iron Age, the first inhabitants of Europe were climbing all the way to the top of Mount Bego along the Canyons of the Valley of the Roya river starting from the Mediterranean Sea. They have recorded their early expressionsof observing nature in more than thirty thousand graffiti on the stones of the “Vallée des Merveilles” .

Our Bego scientific encounters in Nice celebrate this first quest of knowledge and research of our ancestors. They continue it in the most advanced research of relativistic astrophysics.
