The italian partecipation to the ICRA Network is represented by the ICRA Center at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", and by the ICRA Center and the ICRA Network Coordinating Centre in Pescara.

The ICRA Center in Rome was established in 1985 in order to host the activity of research of the international consortium among the following institutes:

• Università di Roma "La Sapienza"
• Space Telescope Institute - Baltimora (U.S.A.)
• International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) - Trieste
• Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) - Trieste
• Specola Vaticana - Castelgandolfo (Città del Vaticano)
• Stanford University - Stanford, California (U.S.A.)
• Washington University - Seattle (U.S.A.)
• Università di Hofei (Repubblica Popolare di Cina) 

The goal of ICRA has been to develop the following topics in the Relativistic Astrophysics:

In the intervening years:

1. more than five hundreds works have appeared in scientific journal
2. many national and international scientific meetings have organised (Italo-Korean, Italo-Russian,; Marcell Grossmann)
3. several text books have been published in many languages
