NCST is the centre of scientific co-ordination for the whole Asia Network, for the research and the development of natural sciences and technology in Vietnam. It was fFounded in May 1993, starting from National Centre for Scientific Research of Vietnam (NCSR). NCST main office is in Hanoi; other institutes are located in Hanoi, Haiphong, Nhatrang, Dalat and Ho Chi Minh City.
NCST main activities are:
- Organization and promotion of scientific and technologic research
- Improvement of scientific and technical resources: the capital and human potential
- Co-operation with foreign partners in scientific research and technological development
This institute is carrying out theoretical studies in the field of mathematics, theoretical and nuclear physics, quantum chemistry, theoretical mechanics.
Prof. Hoang Ngoc Long started the vietnamese translation of Ohanian and Ruffini's text-book on relavitistic astrophysics, published in USA and Italy. Inside ICRA, Vietnam will coordinate the astrophysic activities of other Asian countries: Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia and Indonesia. These countries have a population of over 600 millions.
