Yukawa Institute is an institute for collaboration in the field of theoretical physics. Since its foundation in 1953, our institute has been making all efforts to stimulate collaborations among physicists. Every year we hold many workshops on various topics in fundamental physics, and receive many visitors from other institutions in Japan as well as those from foreign countries.
Since 1978, we have been organizing a series of biannual international topical schools called YKIS (Yukawa International Seminars; former Kyoto Summer Institute), now in collaboration with the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the UC Santa Barbara. The activity of our institute covers a wide range of fields in contemporary theoretical physics: particle physics, field theory, nuclear physics, astrophysics, statistical physics, condensed matter physics and biophysics. We also encourage initiatives to create a new field of research at the forefront of modern physics.
